Travel overview of Belgium – by Louise
Belgium’s biggest draws are its medieval town feel, home to several UNESCO World Heritage sites + many delightful cafe-bars serving some of the world’s finest beers. But there’s so much more to this country, from post-industrial heritage to kayaking canals + rural chateaus to the beautiful North Sea beaches. Museums + galleries reveal the complex history of this medieval country. Belgium also hosts some of the world’s weirdest carnivals. Having been told I have Belgian blood (both my parents’ last names are Belgian) it always captivated me to learn more about the country. Ghent + Bruges were my two first true experiences with this beautiful country + they certainly were amazing examples of what this country represents. Old world charm + quaint are the phrases that come to mind. I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to experience such an amazing place + meet the beautiful, warm local people here.
