Travel overview of Greece – by Louise
Oh. My. Goodness. Can there BE any more picturesque place than Greece? Wow. Seriously if you have not visited Greece, either the mainland or the islands, you have not lived. Truly. From the ruins and history and architecture documented in a plethora of archaeological sites and museums on the mainland to the most beautiful white towns and pristine beaches on the islands, you cannot go wrong by making Greece your next vacation destination. You can trace back history in this magnificent country going all the way back to the Paleolithic Age through the Dark Years and then through the time of Constantine the Great, the Greek War of Independence after World War I’ll all the way to the current status of Presidential Parliamentary Democracy and member of the European Union. It is unbelievable how much history this amazing country has. The archaeological sites alone warrant a substantial visit which beauty is only magnified with its unbelievable location surrounded by the Aegean Sea on the east, the Ionian Sea on the west, Mediterranean Sea and Sea of Crete on the south. My travels through Greece so far include Athens (Parthenon, Acropolis, etc), Corfu and Mykonos but my plans to visit many more Grecian cities are on the horizon. Greece continues to be a destination that is on everyone’s bucket list and for so many reasons. I left my heart in Greece so I’ll have to go back and get it one day. Hopefully sooner than later.
